What are the precautions for milling titanium alloy?
In the milling process of discontinuous cutting, so that the tool is under impact load, the tool in each turn is only part of the milling state, there will be titanium bonding and cutter teeth bite, eventually, leading to tool wear or broken. When the rotary tool leaves the milling part, the residual debris will stick to the cutter teeth and be carried to the next milling process. In order to avoid this phenomenon, the method of rigid fixation and compelling can be adopted to remove the thin chips from the teeth easily. Spraying with water-soluble coolant will reduce the milling temperature and minimize the bite. For small milling parts and other small processing processes, ordinary high-speed steel milling cutters can be used. For high-speed production processes or heavy metal removal processes, such as plane milling and milling of slabs, carbide tools are more suitable.
At the beginning of machining the new workpiece, use the appropriate slow milling speed, and then increase to a higher milling speed, cold-rolled strip, and plate, the finished product is high precision, with uniform, excellent surface shape, stable, uniform mechanical properties and organization. Cold rolling thin sheet, strip, or foil surface processing includes bright processing and dull processing. The surface of the former is smooth and bright rolling on the leveling machine, and the surface appears with a metallic luster. The latter is matte processing, the surface using weak acid cleaning, shot peening pickling, or spraying alumina particles, because of continuous annealing in the atmosphere, the crystal particles, and thickness adjustment can control its luster so that the material can be used as a roof decoration material. Other matte processing may be made by rolling a roller with a slight unevenness
